Cultural Study for making glorious nations of America.

went back to beijing this winter and spent a great 3-weeks there. Now under the grey sky of binghamton, staring at the people's eyes that seldomly reveals any emotion, I feel pretty upset. The roses are red, the trees are green, the snow white, the mountains are glorious, the lakes are tranquil, the traffic went through, the classes going on and off, the war is going on, the presidential campaign is on, the world is colorful; yet the people are bored. American are used to, if i may, to generate a word to use without authority: Americaans are used to "institutionalize" everything. Yes there is war, but the war is for the politicials and the soldiers, we don't care. Yes there is protest. see how wonderful and free our country is? Yet the protests are for the protesters, we don't care. Yes the roses are red and trees are green. Now leave'em to the gardeners or gardenmaniacs, and to the poets and to Louis Armstrong, We Don't Care. It seems, from a bird-view picture, that this country has everything; however How many of us ccutaly get to access these many things? Isn 't that most of us live one's monochromatic life? We do have millons of channels on TV. But History channel is for the history freaks; OLN is for outdoor freaks; Discovery is for geeks; Thirteen is for "poshies"; leaving only cheap comedy and NFL games with 4 times more commercials that is to be accessed by most of us.

So I will argue. A diverse society with everything in access is good. But if people don't have to interest to access them, it is a failure to some extent.
